The $1.4 billion Dugald River zinc project has gained special status to help cut red tape and create hundreds of jobs in north Queensland. Western Australian State Development Minister Bill Marmion has toured the Roy Hill project, the State's newest - and the nation's biggest - single-pit iron ore mine. "Roy Hill celebrated its first shipment in December 2015, and is now in the process of ramping up to its full production capacity of 55 million tonnes per annum," Mr Marmion said. Thousands of new jobs in regional Queensland have come a major step closer with approval of the mining leases for the $21.7 billion Carmichael coal mine and rail project in the State’s Galilee Basin. Rio Tinto will soon commence planning for the wind-down of operations and the eventual closure of New Zealand Aluminium Smelters (NZAS) following the conclusion of its strategic review which highlighted that the business is no longer viable given high energy costs and a challenging outlook for the Aluminum industry. Equinor plans to build world-leading clean hydrogen plant in the UK

Norwegian-based international energy company, Equinor, is leading a project to develop one of the UK’s – and the world’s – first at-scale facilities to produce hydrogen from natural gas in combination with carbon capture and storage (CCS). The project, called Hydrogen to Humber Saltend (H2H Saltend), provides the beginnings of a decarbonised industrial cluster in the Humber region, the UK’s largest by emissions. Agreement reached on long-term power supply for Oyu Tolgoi

Rio Tinto, Turquoise Hill and the Government of Mongolia have reached an agreement on the preferred domestic power solution for Oyu Tolgoi that paves the way for the Government to fund and construct a State-Owned Power Plant at Tavan Tolgoi, Mongolia. Anson Resources Limited is planning to commence exploration on its uranium and vanadium lodes claims at its Yellow Cat Project in Utah, USA. Mineral exploration and development company, Kodal Minerals plc, has provided an update on the progress of the Bougouni Lithium Project Mining Licence application in Mali and an update on its gold exploration properties in Mali and Cote d'Ivoire. Equinor (formerly Statoil and StatoilHydro) and SSE Renewables, the two companies behind the world’s largest offshore wind farm Dogger Bank, have just revealed plans to build a new Operations and Maintenance Base at the Port of Tyne in the UK. The Dogger Bank Wind Farm is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Equinor and SSE Renewables.
