Around 20 holes for 2000m of RC drilling is planned over the next few weeks with assays reported as soon as they are available. The program is testing along strike and down dip of mineralisation intersected in the June maiden drilling program, where down hole intersections included: 17m @ 2.2% Cu from 84m including 8m @ 4.3% Cu from 84m (22MERC016) 18m @ 1.8% Cu and 0.11g/t Au from 57m, including 5m @ 5.4% Cu and 0.31g/t…

BP33 drilling delivers outstanding results for Core Lithium

Following diamond drilling commencing in May at Core Lithium Ltd’s BP33 deposit, which is part of the Finniss Lithium Project near Darwin in the Northern Territory, assays are starting to be received by the company. Geological logging has confirmed that spodumene bearing pegmatite extends at depth to the south with indications that thickness, and grade may improve with depth. Although the main and southern bodies are currently modelled as separate entities, the location of the drilling also provides support that they are likely continuous. A total of three deep diamond drill holes have intersected the main BP33 mineralisation at depths…

Gruyere Gold Mine achieves record production in the June quarter

Gold Road Resources Limited has produced a record 85,676 ounces of gold at its Gruyere Gold Mine, a 50:50 joint venture with Gruyere Mining Company Pty Ltd, a member of the Gold Fields Ltd Group, which operates Gruyere. The gold was produced at an AISC of A$1,250 per attributable ounce during the June 2022 quarter. The increased production quarter on quarter was the result of record high head grades as well as record high quarterly processing throughput. Gruyere remains on target for 2022 Annual Production Guidance of 300,000 – 340,000 ounces (150,000 – 170,000 ounces attributable) at an attributable AISC…

Leigh Creek Energy explores AdBlue opportunities from urea project

Leigh Creek Energy (LCK) has announced it is exploring options to produce domestic AdBlue to address chronic supply shortage across Australia. Recent curbs on fertiliser exports from China and the announced closure of Australia’s only urea manufacturing facility (Incitec Pivot Limited’s major Gibson Island fertiliser plant in Brisbane) has created a growing shortage and increase in the price of urea both worldwide and in Australia. Urea is a key chemical used in the manufacturing process in several industries including fertiliser, chemical production, AdBlue fuel additives, resin production and the medical sector. LCK’s Leigh Creek Urea Project (LCUP) is set to…

Call in for Waratah Coal Power Station considered

Queensland's Planning Minister has given notice of a proposed call in for a proposed coal-fired power station on a cattle property located 30 kilometres north-west of the town of Alpha. Waratah Coal applied for a development approval to the Barcaldine Regional Council as a code assessable development, that does not require public consultation, under an outdated 2006 planning scheme. Deputy Premier and Planning Minister Steven Miles said Barcaldine Regional Council had done a good job of assessing the application given the small council has never assessed a project of this size. Miles added: “Currently, this application isn’t subject to public…
