Ora Gold Limited (ASX: OAU) has announced promising initial assay results from its 2024 RC drilling program at the Crown Prince Prospect within the Garden Gully Gold Project in Western Australia. The results, particularly from the Southeastern Zone (SEZ), highlight significant high-grade gold mineralisation, marking a significant step forward in the exploration of this key growth area.
The drilling campaign, initiated in early February 2024, has yielded encouraging results, including an exceptional intercept from drill hole OGGRC662 — 15 metres at 9.91g/t Au from 88 metres, with a higher-grade section of two metres at 54.17g/t Au from 100 metres.
Other notable intercepts include one metre at 8.67g/t Au from 276 metres in OGGRC541 and four metres at 1.72g/t Au from 172 metres in OGGRC663.
These results are part of the first batch of assays received, with an additional 39 holes totalling 4,151 metres drilled in February and March 2024 awaiting results.
Ora Gold CEO Alex Passmore expressed excitement about the results, as he stated: “We are very pleased with the initial assay results from Ora’s RC drilling program targeting growth at Southeastern Zone which continues to demonstrate high-grade gold mineralisation at depth. We look forward to following up with further drilling, which is focused on adding to the known strike and depth extent of Crown Prince.”
The Crown Prince Prospect has been a key focus of Ora Gold’s exploration efforts, showing substantial potential for resource expansion.
The high-grade gold assays — particularly from OGGRC662 — indicate depth extensions of the Southeastern Zone mineralisation.
This intersection, situated at the eastern end of the existing resource model, is expected to enhance the grade profile and extend the strike length of the deposit.
The company plans to conduct further drilling to confirm grades in deeper areas, building on the success of OGGRC663 and other promising results.
