Marmota Limited (ASX:MEU) has announced a substantial upgrade in gold grades at its Aurora Tank project in South Australia, with new results from Bulk Leach Extractable Gold (BLEG) testing revealing a 73 per cent increase in the top-grade gold assay.
The previously reported high-grade interval of 50 g/t gold has now been upgraded to an average of 87 g/t gold, marking a significant boost for the project’s potential.
The enhanced results come from the high-grade interval at Hole 24ATRC075, located 32-33m downhole.
Five separate 2kg BLEG samples from this interval returned impressive grades of 81 g/t, 92 g/t, 94 g/t, 72 g/t, and 94 g/t gold.
Notably, three of these samples exceeded 90 g/t gold, underscoring the exceptional grade of the mineralisation.
Marmota’s Executive Chairman, Dr Colin Rose, expressed enthusiasm about the results, stating: “We are delighted with the verification of high grades at Aurora Tank, particularly relevant with resource modelling next to commence.”
Dr Rose highlighted the company’s proactive approach in re-testing the highest 50 g/t sample from the November 2024 release using the high-precision BLEG technique.
The BLEG testing methodology, which involves larger sample sizes than standard fire assay, was employed to minimise variability due to the nugget effect and provide high confidence in resource estimation.
This robust approach is expected to play a crucial role as Marmota advances towards resource modelling for Aurora Tank.
Located in the Gawler Craton, South Australia, the Aurora Tank project has consistently delivered outstanding gold intersections.
The project’s setting in a highly prospective, underexplored region suggests significant potential for further discoveries.
As Marmota moves forward with resource modelling, these upgraded results are likely to have a positive impact on the project’s overall value and future development plans.
The company’s thorough approach to testing and verification demonstrates its commitment to accurate resource assessment and responsible project advancement.
