BRAZIL — Oar Resources Limited (ASX: OAR) has announced a significant discovery of multiple uranium mineralisation occurrences at its wholly-owned Amorinópolis Project in Goiás.
The company’s exploration efforts have yielded two uranium prospects with values exceeding 100 ppm, marking a promising start to their exploration program.
Scintillometer surveys conducted at the surface recorded uranium values up to 131.5 ppm (equivalent to 155.1 ppm U₃O₈).
These readings indicate strong uranium mineralisation potential within a large anomalous zone, coinciding with a granite-sandstone contact.
During the exploration, Oar’s team made an unexpected discovery of historical drill holes from the 1970s, previously drilled by Nuclebrás.
This finding, combined with the newly identified anomalies, further underscores the area’s prospectivity.
Oar Resources is now planning an expanded sampling program to map and characterise the anomalies in detail at both prospects.
This initiative aims to define potential drilling targets and will cover approximately 1.9 square kilometres along the strike of the historic Nuclebrás drill area.
Paul Stephen, Managing Director of Oar Resources, expressed enthusiasm about the discovery, stating: “This is exactly the start we were hoping for in Phase One of our new program. Confirmation of Uranium mineralisation at surface on our first visit to the site is an excellent result and gives us early confidence in our exploration strategy.”
The company intends to continue systematic reconnaissance of the remaining historic uranium locations identified by Nuclebrás, as well as recently identified geophysical targets in the tenement area.
Oar Resources will employ multi-element soil geochemistry sampling to define potential drilling targets.
Additionally, the exploration team will move on to the São José Project in Paraíba State for similar reconnaissance work.
The company looks forward to collaborating with Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil (INB) as outlined in their recently announced work program and MoU.
This discovery marks a significant milestone for Oar Resources, potentially positioning the company as a key player in Brazil’s uranium exploration sector.
As the company progresses with its detailed Phase Two exploration plan at Amorinópolis, investors and industry observers will be keenly watching for further developments.
