Australian Mines Ltd. is proposing a corporate name change to First Scandium Limited, aligning its brand identity with its pivot toward developing its critical minerals asset in New South Wales.
The proposed name change highlights the company’s dedicated focus on its 100 per cent-owned Flemington scandium project, located in central NSW.
Flemington directly adjoins Sunrise Energy Metals’ Syerston Scandium Project, sharing the same underlying geological intrusion and positioning the asset at the centre of an emerging Australian scandium hub.
The rebranded company plans to adopt the new Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) ticker code FSD.
Australian Mines has already reserved both the corporate title with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the ticker with the ASX.
The name change is still subject to shareholder approval.
Australian Mines Managing Director Andrew Nesbitt said the new corporate name clearly communicates the company’s long-term commercial goals to investors and global trade partners.
“First Scandium clearly communicates where we see the company’s strongest opportunity for long-term growth,” Nesbitt said.
“Flemington’s location alongside Sunrise Energy Metals’ Syerston project, within the same geological intrusion, is a connection we want investors and potential partners to recognise.
“Our focus is on advancing the pre-feasibility study and building the technical and commercial foundations needed to progress Flemington towards development. The new name makes that direction clear.”
Scandium continues to gain international traction as a critical energy-transition material, prized for creating high-strength, lightweight aluminium alloys used in aerospace, defence, automotive, and solid oxide fuel cell technologies.
The company will issue an implementation timetable to shareholders following the upcoming vote.
Australian Mines will continue operating under its current name and trading under the AUZ ticker code until formal completion of the corporate rebranding process.
