The Australian government has launched Austrade’s largest Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus to date, highlighting 94 investment-ready projects to support global supply chains for clean energy, defence, and advanced technologies.
The updated prospectus features 29 new additions that have met key commercial and technical milestones since February.
This includes 20 new upstream extraction projects and nine new midstream refining and processing proposals, taking the total number of featured midstream projects to 36.
“Australia has the natural resource, expertise and regulatory environment to be a world-leader in the reliable supply of the critical minerals that the world’s future industries rely on,” said Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell.
“The Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus helps investors to identify opportunities in Australia’s critical minerals ecosystem, and to keep up with the latest information on government policy and support.”
The release comes as Australia strengthens international partnerships to guarantee resource security, aligning with key agreements such as the United States–Australia Framework for Securing of Supply in the Mining and Processing of Critical Minerals and Rare Earths, the G7 Leaders’ Declaration on Securing Supply Chains, and the G7+ Critical Minerals Resilience and Production Alliance.
Minister for Resources Madeleine King noted that 94 commercial-stage projects are now established across every Australian state, reinforcing the nation’s capacity to meet strong global demand for battery components, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and digital infrastructure.
“The addition of 29 new projects to the Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus demonstrates the growing strength of our critical minerals sector, and the opportunities for investment right across the supply chain,” she said.
“The government is determined to see more of our critical minerals processed and refined here in Australia, creating good jobs, strengthening our sovereign capabilities and ensuring Australians benefit from the growing global demand for our resources.”
