Gateway Mining Ltd. will restructure its board to drive its next phase of exploration and resource growth at its Yandal gold project in Western Australia.
The management changes will officially take effect following the conclusion of the company’s general meeting on 16 November.
Under the restructure, current CEO Richard Pugh will step into the role of Managing Director.
Pugh, a geologist with over 18 years of industry experience, has spearheaded Gateway’s systematic exploration efforts over the past year.
Under his leadership, the company delivered several key gold discoveries across the Yandal system, including the Cowza, Haflinger, Hummer, and Rubicon prospects.
“It’s been a fast-paced period since we put the ‘new’ Gateway together last year,” Pugh said.
“The company has gone forward in leaps and bounds, now having an exceptional balance sheet with over $50 million cash, plus multiple discoveries throughout the Yandal Gold Project, chief among them the outstanding discovery at Cowza.”
Current Non-Executive Director Anthony McClure will transition to Non-Executive Chair, bringing 35 years of global mining and financial service experience to the position.
McClure replaces Andrew Bray, who is stepping down from his executive role after extending his term into November 2026. Bray will remain on the board as a Non-Executive Director and significant shareholder.
“I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Non-Executive Chairman as Gateway enters a very exciting period of exploration and development,” McClure said.
Gateway has also appointed experienced legal and corporate executive Kristen Podagiel as a Non-Executive Director.
Podagiel brings over two decades of commercial law experience across resources, technology, and energy, having previously served as Managing Partner and CEO of law firm McCullough Robertson. She currently holds a non-executive directorship at Silver Mines Limited.
Following the AGM, Gateway’s board will comprise Non-Executive Chairman Anthony McClure, Managing Director Richard Pugh, and Non-Executive Directors Andrew Bray, David Morgan, David Crook, and Kristen Podagiel.
