Laramide Resources Ltd. has acquired a portfolio of exploration licences across Sweden’s Hotagen and Arjeplog-Arvidsjaur uranium districts, providing the company with a low-cost entry into one of Europe’s most prospective uranium districts.
The move positions Laramide to capitalise on Sweden’s recent legislative reforms, which restored uranium mining and modernised the country’s nuclear energy regulatory framework.
“Sweden has undergone one of the most significant policy shifts in the global uranium sector,” said Marc Henderson, President and CEO of Laramide Resources.
“In a relatively short period, the Swedish government has restored uranium mining, modernised the regulatory framework and reaffirmed nuclear energy as a cornerstone of the country’s long-term energy strategy.”
He added that the legislative changes create an attractive opportunity to build a strategic position within an emerging European nuclear fuel supply chain.
Under the deal with private vendor Gilpas Resources, Laramide has acquired a 100 per cent interest in the properties for AU$600,000, split evenly between AU$300,000 in cash and 503,216 common shares valued at AU$300,000.
The agreement also includes up to AU$400,000 in conditional milestone payments tied to future resource delineation milestones.
The acquisition comprises two prospective project areas with proven geological prospects. The Kläppibäcken project spans more than 1,700 hectares across two licences.
The project adjoins historical uranium resources and exhibits extensive radiometric anomalies alongside rare earth element (REE) prospectivity.
Meanwhile, the company has also acquired the Kaivaive 103 licence, which provides exposure to a province containing significant deposits like Pleutajokk and Duobblon.
Historical drilling in 1976 and 1981 intersected shallow uranium mineralisation within 50 metres of surface.
Laramide plans to initiate initial work by digitising historical geological data, integrating geophysical models, and ranking high-priority drill targets to prepare for modern field exploration.
