Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) has announced the appointment of Lawrie Tremaine and Ross Carroll as independent non-executive directors to its board, effective 7 July 2025.
The appointments underscore the company’s commitment to board renewal, strengthened governance, and enhanced financial oversight.
Both Tremaine and Carroll bring extensive executive management, financial, strategic, and capital markets expertise, honed through senior leadership roles at ASX-listed companies in the resources, energy, and mining services sectors.
Tremaine is a distinguished finance executive with over 35 years of experience spanning mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, and energy, both in Australia and internationally.
Most recently, he served as chief financial officer at Origin Energy until 2024, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s balance sheet and guiding capital management.
His previous roles include CFO at Woodside Energy and 17 years at Alcoa, where he established finance infrastructure across the Asia Pacific.
Tremaine currently chairs MoneyCatcha, a private fintech firm. He will chair the Audit and Risk Committee, chair the Sustainability Committee, and serve as a member of the Ethics and Governance Committee.
Carroll brings over 25 years of leadership, CEO, and CFO experience across mining, energy, and mining services.
Most recently, he was CEO of Commerce Resources, a Toronto-listed junior miner.
He previously served as CFO at MMG Limited, leading major acquisitions such as the US$1.9 billion Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana, and as CEO of Macmahon Holdings.
Carroll also held senior roles at Woodside Energy and BHP. He will chair the Ethics and Governance Committee and join the Audit and Risk and Technical Committees.
The board’s committee composition has been updated to reflect these appointments, with Carroll now chairing the Ethics and Governance Committee and Mr Tremaine chairing the Audit and Risk Committee.
Malcolm Bundey, MinRes independent non-executive chair, commented: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Lawrie and Ross to the MinRes board.
“They are both highly respected business leaders with proven track records in leadership, financial stewardship and strategic execution, and I’m confident that they will contribute significantly to our next chapter… A strong, capable and independent board is key to positioning MinRes for long-term value creation for all our shareholders.”
Tremaine said: “I am proud to join the board of a great Western Australian company with a culture of innovation, a world-class mining services business and a portfolio of high-quality assets, including the landmark Onslow Iron project.”
Carroll added: “I am delighted to be joining the MinRes board.
