Genus has secured a major milestone in its national expansion, announcing its appointment to Transgrid’s Construction Services Panel Agreement (CSPA) — a move that cements the company’s standing as one of Australia’s most trusted infrastructure partners.
The agreement, signed with one of the nation’s most critical energy providers, positions Genus at the heart of Australia’s energy infrastructure transformation and gives the company potential access to a pipeline of approximately $4 billion in projects across New South Wales.
The CSPA has an initial term of three years, with possible extensions to five years, and covers a broad range of vital works.
Genus will be invited by Transgrid to tender for projects including transmission line construction, substation and switching station upgrades, full design-and-construct packages, and early-stage preparatory works.
Project values range from under $1 million to large-scale packages of up to $500 million.
Genus Managing Director David Riches said: “Transgrid’s ongoing relationship with Genus shows that we have the scale, the balance sheet, and most importantly, the people, to take on some of the biggest and most complex projects in the country.
“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and even prouder of where we’re headed.”
This agreement is another landmark for Genus, which has evolved from a Perth-based powerlines business to a national infrastructure force, now employing more than 1,400 staff and holding a $1.5 billion order book.
The company’s growing reputation as an agile, solutions-driven provider is further reinforced by this win.
“The projects under this agreement form part of the backbone of Australia’s future grid, and we’re honoured to be considered to help deliver work that will keep the lights on and support economic growth across the state,” Riches added.
With strong momentum already in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, and Western Australia, Genus’ appointment to the Transgrid panel signals its transition from a regional player to a national Tier 1 contender.
