Liebherr-Australia has delivered three new PR 776 G8 dozers to mining services provider MACA, a Thiess company, marking the first time Liebherr dozers have entered MACA’s mining fleet.
The machines arrived in late May at the Duketon Gold Project in Western Australia, which is operated by Regis Resources.
The delivery represents a significant milestone in the relationship between Liebherr-Australia and MACA, one of Australia’s leading contractors in the mining, infrastructure and construction sectors.
Liebherr-Australia is also scheduled to deliver two R 9300 excavators to MACA later this year.
Luke Birkett, general manager of assets at MACA, said he is looking forward to seeing the Liebherr dozers in action in the WA goldfields.
“The arrival of the three PR 776 dozers strengthens the partnership between Thiess, MACA and Liebherr.
“A significant amount of work has gone into planning and delivering a smooth transition to site, and I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved.

Brian Boitano, executive general manager of sales, marketing, training and solutions for Liebherr-Australia, said the delivery builds on a well-established relationship between the two companies.
“This latest delivery builds on our long-standing relationship with MACA and also represents an important step in increasing the presence of Liebherr dozers in the Australian market,” said Boitano.
The PR 776 G8 was introduced at MINExpo 2024, replacing the previous G6 model as Liebherr’s flagship mining dozer.
It remains the world’s largest hydrostatic dozer and is capable of moving more material than other machines in its class while using less fuel.
The G8 model also features updated electronic architecture, making the machine compatible with a wider range of Liebherr’s technology products and providing a foundation for future developments.
Two R 9300 excavators are scheduled to join MACA’s fleet in the second half of 2026. Both of these 250 tonne class machines will be deployed in the mid-west region of Western Australia.

The commissioning of the three PR 776 G8 dozers, alongside the planned arrival of the R 9300 excavators, underscores the deepening ties between Liebherr-Australia and MACA.
As both companies look to expand their footprint across Australia’s mining sector, the Duketon Gold Project stands as an early proving ground for this next phase of collaboration.
With the dozers now on site and the excavators due before the end of the year, MACA’s fleet is set to grow substantially, giving the contractor greater capacity and capability to support Regis Resources’ operations at Duketon and potentially other projects in the future.
