Samsung Electronics Australia has announced an expansion of its Mobile eXperience (MX) channel distribution, making its rugged mobile and tablet range available through World’s Best Technology (WBT).
The move marks the latest phase of Samsung’s local B2B offering expansion and positions WBT as the first Australian distributor with access to Samsung’s complete B2B suite, spanning mobile, audio-visual display, home appliances, and air solutions.
While the announcement highlights sectors such as hospitality, accommodation, aged care, student housing, and construction, the expansion carries particular significance for the mining industry, where durable, connected technology is increasingly central to operations.
Mining sites present some of the harshest operating conditions for consumer and enterprise electronics, with extreme temperatures, dust, moisture, and physical impact routinely damaging standard devices.
Samsung’s rugged portfolio, which includes smartphones and tablets built to IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards, is designed to withstand exactly these conditions, while Samsung Knox provides built-in security for sensitive operational and safety data.
For mining operators, the ability to source a fully integrated technology ecosystem through a single distributor could streamline procurement significantly.
Remote and regional mine sites often require coordinated deployments across multiple locations, combining mobile devices with display systems, communications infrastructure, and environmental controls such as air solutions for site offices and workforce accommodation.
With WBT now holding distribution rights across Samsung’s entire enterprise suite, mining companies and their technology integrators gain a single point of contact for hardware, software, and connected services across an entire site or multi-site operation.
Gino Casha, Head of MX B2B at Samsung Electronics Australia, said the shift reflects broader demand across sectors, including sites where mobile devices sit at the core of connected operations.
“There is a growing appetite for custom, enterprise-ready technology products being rolled out as an ecosystem that is fully connected,” Casha said.
Jaiden Maggs, Sales Director at World’s Best Technology, said the expanded relationship strengthens the distributor’s ability to serve customers operating in demanding commercial environments, including resources and heavy industry.
“Mobile phones and tablets are at the centre of enterprise connectivity, and allow for greater control and synergies,” Maggs said, adding that combining Samsung’s device innovation with WBT’s specialist deployment expertise positions the partnership to unlock new growth opportunities across commercial verticals.
For an industry under constant pressure to improve safety monitoring, workforce communication, and asset tracking across dispersed and often remote locations, the availability of ruggedised, enterprise-grade devices through an expanded local distribution channel may prove particularly timely.
As mining operators continue to invest in digital transformation, from automated reporting to real-time equipment monitoring, reliable mobile hardware capable of surviving site conditions remains a foundational requirement.
The expanded distribution arrangement is now active across the Australian channel, with WBT positioned to support customers seeking bespoke, multi-product deployments that integrate mobile devices with the rest of Samsung’s B2B technology ecosystem.
