Adavale Resources Limited (ASX:ADD) has appointed David Ward, currently Non-Executive Technical Director, as Managing Director effective 17 November 2025.
David brings more than 30 years of mining and exploration experience to the role, with a strong record of delivering value through disciplined exploration, project development, and the management of both open-pit and underground operations.
His extensive background across the Lachlan Fold Belt is expected to be pivotal as Adavale accelerates exploration and drilling programs across its flagship Parkes Gold-Copper Project.
David began his career with Hargreaves Resources, the last operator of the London-Victoria Gold Mine, before taking on exploration and operational roles with a number of major mining companies.
He spent part of his career with Newcrest Mining, where he contributed to production and resource definition activities at the Cadia Gold Mine.
At Clancy Exploration, he led porphyry gold-copper exploration across key Ordovician intrusive centres in the Lachlan Fold Belt, including Wellington (Rose Hill), Narromine (Myall), Northparkes (Trundle), and Lake Cowal.
His work across the region also includes exploration activity in the Cobar District and the Girilambone Group copper areas with Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY), as well as discovery drilling at the Bygoo Tin Project in the Wagga Tin Belt, now part of Caspin Resources (ASX:CPN).
As Chief Geologist for Bacchus Resources, David was instrumental in defining approximately 950,000 ounces of gold resources in the Northern Territory.
He also oversaw the development of additional exploration assets across the Northern Territory, Queensland, and New South Wales — assets which were later integrated into key projects for several ASX-listed explorers.
He additionally served as founding Director of Coolabah Metals Limited, now Broken Hill Mines (ASX:BHM).
Adavale Resources Executive Chairman and CEO, Allan Ritchie, said the appointment comes at a pivotal phase for the company’s growth.
“We are delighted to appoint David as Managing Director at this pivotal time for Adavale,” said Ritchie.
Ritchie said David’s combination of strong technical expertise and practical operational experience across the Lachlan Fold Belt would bring significant value to Adavale and its stakeholders.
He added that with the company preparing to commence drilling across both its brownfields and greenfields projects this quarter, he was confident in David’s capability to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Reflecting on his appointment, Ward commented: “I am pleased to transition into the role of Managing Director of Adavale.
“The Parkes Project sits in one of Australia’s most endowed gold-copper provinces and has demonstrated to have the right rocks and structures for a tier-1 discovery.
Ward stated that their priority will be on expanding resources at the brownfields London-Victoria Gold Mine while quickly progressing key targets at Ashes and Myalls.
He expressed enthusiasm about driving Adavale’s ambitious growth strategy and overseeing the forthcoming drilling campaigns.
The Board welcomed David to his new role and expressed confidence in his leadership as Adavale continues advancing its exploration and development portfolio within one of Australia’s most prospective gold-copper regions.
