Contact Harald’s new suite of safety and productivity solutions set to significantly enhance the Mining Sector
Contact Harald, a leader in the field of Bluetooth technology applications and a key provider of close proximity location tracking solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic has expanded its platform to include new products that enhance Mining safety and productivity.
Launch of two new products leading the way in AI and location technology
‘Ask Harry’, is an intelligent digital assistant designed to streamline mining safety procedures and provide operational productivity gains. Using voice as the main input, Ask Harry makes finding and reporting information simple. Call in to Ask Harry for help, either on your phone or using the two-way radio.
‘Find Harry’ is an integrated location and tracking system, designed for both real-time tracking and last-seen location solutions.
Matt Denton, Contact Harald’s CPO says ‘Find Harry is the natural evolution of our work in location technologies over the past decade. We are expanding our products to include indoor, outdoor and proximity-based solutions. When you add Ask Harry in the mix you get location with intelligence, creating smarter ways to use your location data. Ask and Find Harry form a powerful duo to help create a safer work environment, plus increase productivity.’
Ask Harry is an intelligent digital assistant that helps enhance safety and productivity. The technology is voice controlled, which means access is as simple as a phone or two-way radio call and is available in multiple languages.
Find Harry is a technology system that helps improve safety and efficiency by providing a clear picture of workers’ whereabouts and the precise location of tools, equipment, inventory and assets at all times. Combining multiple technologies such as GPS, Bluetooth and Wifi, Contact Harald tailors cost effective solutions to meet the unique scenarios and needs of its customers.
Combined technology use case: Mining
Merging technologies to transform the mining industry
Ask Harry’s ease, speed, and multilingual offerings combined with Find Harry’s locating capabilities will revolutionise the mining industry by:
- Enhancing communication
- Providing faster access to information
- Enabling quicker, more accurate safety reporting
- Optimising inventory, equipment, asset and fleet management.
With Harry’s network of beacons and tags, users can view a digital map of the mining site, showing the location of equipment and materials and the whereabouts of personnel. Mining personnel can access job information, directions and safety updates with a call to Harry. They can also upload reports onsite through their mobile phones or two-way radios. In the case of an incident, those nearby can call Harry to alert emergency personnel, and the location services provided by Harry can help early responders rapidly locate those injured.
Official market launch location and dates
The new range of safety and productivity solutions are first to be launched in Australia at the end of Q3, with the US market having access to the offerings circa late Q4 2022. Nick O’Halloran, CFO of Contact Harald says, ‘The Australian launch date is fixed, same as with the US as we already have a strong footing in those markets. But, we’ve also been getting some very interesting enquiries from abroad, such as Africa, so we may end up moving our 2023 market entry dates forward to keep up with the demand’.
Markets impacted
Primary and secondary producers will find the novel approach to location and tracking, merged with the intelligence of AI to bring significant operational and process improvements, and may even be a life saver in extreme circumstances. According to Mr O’Halloran, ‘Those in the mining and allied sectors such as construction have expressed a considerable amount of interest during the development of our new products and are eagerly awaiting opportunities to trial, in view of large scale roll outs. It’s great to see such a high degree of interest in embracing new technologies, I’m certain that the sector is about to make great strides in productivity and worker safety’.
