Alkane Resources has discovered a gold-bearing geological structure at its Tomingley gold operations in New South Wales.
Exploration drilling at Tomingley tested a seismic reflector feature beneath the Roswell deposit and near-mine prospects such as El Paso.
Roswell underground resources are estimated at 5.5 million tonnes grading at 2.6 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold for an endowment of 476,000 ounces of gold.
Significant assay results from this target include 8.7 metres grading 1.15 g/t gold including three metres at 2.78 g/t gold, 0.3 metres at 11.4 g/t gold, and two metres at 5.90 g/t gold.
Underground drilling within the project’s Western Monzodiorite domain at Roswell confirmed multiple high-grade gold zones, with standout results such as 5.9 metres at 31.0 g/t gold including 2.1 m at 78.4 g/t gold.
Alkane CEO Nic Earner said: “Our continued exploration at Tomingley reveals both extensions to our deposits, which remain open at depth and along strike, as well as new areas of mineralisation.
“This drilling demonstrates the significant resource expansion potential across the mine site. We look forward to revealing this potential, both near mine and regionally around Tomingley.”
Tomingley gold mine is an open pit and underground mining development with a one million tonne per annum processing facility in operation since 2014.
Mining is based on the Wyoming One, Wyoming Three, Caloma One, Caloma Two and (since April 2024) Roswell deposits.
Alkane is extending gold mining operations at Tomingley to include the San Antonio and Roswell resources immediately south of the existing mine.
This AU$30 million project is a NSW State Significant Development being conducted with consideration for the environment and the community.
