AUSTRALIA — Asra Minerals Limited (ASX:ASR) has announced encouraging results from its recent exploration activities at the Kookynie and Mt Stirling Gold Projects in Western Australia.
The company’s reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at Kookynie has yielded significant high-grade gold intersections, validating historical data and enhancing resource growth potential.
The RC drilling program at Kookynie East targeted three prospects — Sapphire, Orion, and Gladstone. Each drill hole successfully intersected the targeted mineralised structures, with notable results including:
- Sapphire: 4m at 8.84 g/t Au from 79m, including a high-grade interval of 1m at 24.7 g/t Au
- Gladstone: 2m at 3.18 g/t Au from 57m and 2m at 2.77 g/t Au from 64m
- Orion: 4m at 3.12 g/t Au from 67m
These results have not only confirmed the presence of economic gold grades but also validated the accuracy of historical drilling data from 1994, reinforcing the company’s geological model.
Asra Minerals is currently conducting diamond drilling at the Sapphire mine, with core processing underway for both Sapphire and Orion diamond drill holes.
Concurrently, RC and air core (AC) drilling is progressing ahead of schedule at the Mt Stirling Gold Project, where a 4,000m program is testing high-priority anomalies at the Diorite prospect.
The company has also completed a detailed aeromagnetic survey covering over 19,000 line kilometres across the Mt Stirling and Kookynie East projects.
This survey aims to define gold-bearing structures and assist in refining existing drill targets as well as generating new ones.
Paul Summers, Executive Chairman of Asra Minerals, expressed enthusiasm about the recent results, stating: “We are excited with the results of these maiden drill holes, that were designed to validate and provide confidence in historical drilling and provide valuable structural information from the drill core.
“The anticipated high-grade lode positions confirm our interpretation, which means we have very high confidence in the validity of historical drilling information at Sapphire, Gladstone and Orion.”
Looking ahead, Asra Minerals plans to continue diamond drilling at Kookynie, targeting additional resource growth areas.
The company will also complete the RC and AC drilling at Mt Stirling and release the associated assay results. Furthermore, interpretation of the aeromagnetic survey data will be crucial in defining new drilling targets.
With these multiple exploration programs underway, Asra Minerals is poised to provide shareholders with a steady stream of news and updates throughout the remainder of the year, as it works to expand its resource base and unlock the full potential of its Western Australian gold projects.
