Ausgold Ltd. has confirmed high-grade gold intercepts at its Katanning gold project in Western Australia following assay results from extensional and in-fill drilling within the project’s Central Zone.
The latest data is part of the current 54,000 metres reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD) campaign.
Among the standout results, drill-hole BSRC2022 returned an impressive 11 metres at 7.88 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 99 metres, including a high-grade interval of 2 metres at 41.25g/t.
Other significant intercepts included 21 metres at 3.27g/t and 12 metres at 5.55g/t, reinforcing the consistency of the project’s mineralisation.
Ausgold Executive Chairman, John Dorward, said: “The ongoing drilling campaign continues to deliver exceptional results across multiple fronts at the Katanning gold project.
“The consistency of high-grade results from both in-fill and extensional drilling continues to strengthen the Katanning growth story.
“With extensions of the mineralisation confirmed beneath the DFS Update pits and outside current reserves, we see a clear opportunity to grow the production base and extend mine life, while simultaneously optimising the early years of production.”
The current campaign serves two primary objectives: converting Inferred Resources into the higher-confidence Indicated category to support future mine planning, and testing down-plunge extensions of known lodes.
Drilling across the White Dam-Jackson trend has successfully intersected significant mineralisation, providing further evidence of the system’s depth potential.
To date, the company has completed over 46,700 metres of its planned 54,000-metre program, with assays pending for more than 15,000 metres of core and chips.
Operations remain focused on multiple fronts, including imminent diamond drilling at the Datatine deposit.
The company has completed RC drilling at Nanicup Bridge, with assays pending, while RC drilling at early-stage regional targets Moulyinning and Kulin is scheduled to commence in late April.
Further down-dip opportunities at Jinkas have been identified with RC drilling scheduled to commence in late April.
