EV Resources has made a shift from planning to execution in its near-term antimony production strategy with plant refurbishment underway, maiden drilling well advanced and geophysical surveys having commenced.
The company has reported significant progress at both the Tecomatlán processing plant and the Los Lirios antimony project in Mexico.
Refurbishment of the Tecomatlán plant’s grinding circuit is currently underway, with key steel fabrication works progressing according to a five-week delivery schedule.
This facility remains a cornerstone of the company’s near-term production strategy, which aims to process ore from local miners while simultaneously advancing its own exploration assets. The company remains on track for operational readiness by the second half of 2026.
Parallel to plant works, EV Resources has launched a comprehensive geophysical survey at the Los Lirios project to unlock its property-scale potential.
The program, which includes Controlled-Source-Audio-frequency Magnetotellurics (CSAMT) and ground magnetics, is designed to identify structural controls governing the local hydrothermal system.
“The commencement of geophysical surveys is a big step in unlocking the antimony potential of Los Lirios,” said CEO Mike Brown.
“Combining findings from the survey with results from current drilling will allow us to calibrate results and establish a fingerprint we can use in immediate drill targeting, as well as establishing it as an ideal exploration tool.”
The exploration upside remains significant, with approximately 90 per cent of the Los Lirios project area still unexplored. Nearly five kilometres of the highly prospective Lirios Fault Zone (LFZ) are yet to be systematically tested.
This follows the successful completion of 11 diamond drill holes, which have already revealed a previously unrecognised San Miguel vein structure at the Lirios 1 target. Initial surface sampling at the project has shown grades as high as 30.2 per cent antimony (Sb).
The integration of geophysical data with maiden drilling results is expected to provide a robust framework for upcoming drill targeting as the company moves toward a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate.
The company will also commence soil sampling programs at its Nevada projects and start planning for US government approval.
