Golden Horse Resources has commenced a major new phase of exploration at its Hopes Hill project in Western Australia, mobilising a diamond core rig to test deeper mineralisation targets and enhance geological understanding of the site.
The campaign will see approximately 2,500 metres of diamond drilling, beginning with two deep holes designed to facilitate down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) geophysical surveys — an exploration method proven effective for identifying pyrrhotite-rich gold mineralisation in the Southern Cross region.
This marks the first time DHEM geophysical surveys will be conducted within the Hopes Hill area, with completion scheduled for early next quarter.
The surveys are expected to identify any significant off-hole conductors, which could be indicative of substantial gold mineralisation at depth.
The two initial diamond drill holes are being co-funded under the Western Australian Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DEMIRS) prestigious Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), highlighting the project’s significance and the government’s support for advanced mineral exploration.
Alongside the diamond drilling, Golden Horse has ramped up its reverse circulation (RC) drilling activities, focusing on extending high-grade targets across the more than four-kilometre Hopes Hill trend.
Key areas of focus include Hopes Hill Central, Hopes Hill North, Hopes Hill South, and Irene Betty, where previous drilling has returned encouraging results.
Golden Horse Managing Director Nicholas Anderson said: “The mobilisation of a diamond core rig to site marks an important step forward in our exploration strategy at Hopes Hill.
“This phase of drilling is designed to build on the encouraging results we’ve already achieved, targeting mineralisation at greater depths than previously tested and providing us with valuable structural and geological insight to support future resource growth.”
Anderson added that, in combination with ongoing RC drilling, the campaign would focus on extending known high-grade zones across the extensive Hopes Hill trend.
The company remains optimistic about the project’s potential and plans to update shareholders as drilling results are received and interpreted, aiming to expand the resource base and unlock further value at Hopes Hill.
