Golden Horse Minerals Limited (ASX: GHM) has announced promising assay results from its flagship Hopes Hill gold project, located near Southern Cross in Western Australia.
The latest drilling campaign has confirmed wide and high-grade gold mineralisation across the entire 1.3-kilometre length of the historic Hopes Hill pit.
These results mark a significant milestone in the company’s exploration efforts, particularly in the previously underexplored northern zone of the pit.
Among the standout drill intercepts, hole GHHHRC0017 returned 16 metres at 3.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 101 metres, including nine metres at 5.2 g/t and an exceptional two-metre interval grading 21.4 g/t from 115 metres.
Other notable results include GHHHRC0011 with nine metres at 3.3 g/t gold from 134 metres (including two metres at 7.8 g/t), GHHHRC0010 with six metres at 2.2 g/t gold from 120 metres, and GHHHRC0009 with 16 metres at 1.6 g/t gold from 137 metres.
These intercepts extend mineralisation to depths of up to 140 metres below the surface, significantly deeper than the historical mining depth of just 40–70 metres.
The company has now confirmed the continuity of high-grade mineralisation throughout the entire pit length, which was previously constrained by tenement boundaries limiting exploration depth.
Golden Horse’s consolidation of these tenements has opened new opportunities for deeper exploration and resource development.
Nicholas Anderson, Managing Director of Golden Horse Minerals, expressed optimism about the findings, stating: “These results from the northern end have confirmed the high-grade nature of the gold mineralisation throughout the entire 1.3-kilometre length of the historic Hopes Hill pit.
“In particular, the shallow nature of the result from GHHHRC0017 is hugely encouraging.”
Anderson highlighted that these results validate Hopes Hill as a flagship asset within Golden Horse’s portfolio and further bolster confidence in its potential.
Drilling commenced in late January as part of a Stage 1 reverse circulation (RC) program aimed at validating historical data and testing mineralisation below the pit floor, which had seen minimal exploration since mining ceased in the mid-1990s.
Over 4,000 metres have been drilled to date, with Stage 1 nearing completion.
Given the success of this phase, Golden Horse is immediately advancing to Stage 2 RC drilling to explore deeper extensions and refine geological models targeting higher-grade south-plunging shoots.
The company plans to maintain continuous drilling along the entire pit length and anticipates further updates in the coming weeks as exploration progresses.
These developments underscore Golden Horse’s commitment to unlocking Hopes Hill’s full potential as a major gold resource.
