Great Bear Exploration Ltd. is swiftly commencing its 2026 field programme, announcing that mobilisation activities are officially underway at its Great Bear Lake Project in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
The company has lined up a premier roster of technical contractors to rapidly advance its 2,800-square-kilometre tenure.
The project covers a substantial portion of the highly prospective Great Bear Magmatic Zone, an area regarded as a premier address for world-class Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) systems.
Aurora Geosciences has been engaged to provide operational and geological support, bringing deep local expertise to the remote field campaign.
Simultaneously, Xcalibur Smart Mapping has been tapped to fly a high-resolution FALCON airborne gravity gradiometer, magnetic, and radiometric survey to pinpoint underground structures and refine drill targets.
The upcoming ground campaign follows a major technical breakthrough by mineral targeting consultancy Resource Potentials.
A comprehensive review of historical data successfully generated multiple Tier 1 exploration targets, specifically flagging a previously overlooked southern zone for immediate field validation. Great Bear plans to fast-track these high-priority zones over the coming weeks to build a robust pipeline of drill-ready targets.
Executive Director Rod McIllree said: “This program is about executing a disciplined exploration strategy with the best technical team available.
“With multiple high-priority targets now locked in, coupled with access to both the Northwest Territories winter ice road network and a 1,500-metre airstrip within our licence area, we are exceptionally well positioned.”
The company will focus initial field sampling on replicating the exceptional high-grade rock chip results returned during recent exploration, which topped out at an impressive 42.6 per cent copper, 3.54 grams per tonne gold, and 75,439 grams per tonne silver.
Great Bear plans to construct its dedicated operations camp between December and February using the local winter ice highway network.
