Leeuwin Metals Ltd. has reported an upgrade to the mineral resource estimate (MRE) at its Marda gold project in Western Australia, lifting total contained gold to 378,600 ounces just six months after delivering its maiden resource.
The global resource across the project now stands at 11.4 million tonnes at 1.03 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
All reported resources sit within granted mining leases approximately 150 kilometres north of Southern Cross, establishing a firm development foundation for upcoming technical and environmental studies.
The update follows extensive drilling at the Evanston deposit, where 69 new reverse circulation and diamond drill holes completed in 2026 significantly improved geological continuity and grade distribution.
The Evanston deposit now holds 165,500 ounces at 0.96 g/t gold, a 22 per cent increase in total contained ounces since December 2025. Indicated resources at Evanston jumped 53 per cent to 75,400 ounces, while high-grade mineralisation above a 0.8 g/t cut-off stands at 115,400 ounces at 1.49 g/t gold.
Leeuwin Metals Executive Chairman Christopher Piggott said the rapid resource growth highlights the scale and potential of the broader mineralised system.
“To grow our global resource to 378,600oz, and to lift Evanston by 22 per cent in total ounces and 53 per cent in Indicated ounces, only six months from our maiden resource, demonstrates the strength of the mineralised system at Marda and the ongoing prospectivity of the project, and we are just getting started,” Piggott said.
“Importantly, all of our mineral resources sit on granted Mining Leases, providing a strong platform for the development studies and permitting we are now commencing. The more we grow the resource, the more value we create for shareholders.”
Leeuwin plans to initiate environmental surveys in August 2026 alongside mine planning under a dual-track development strategy assessing both standalone processing and third-party milling options.
Further exploration drilling over the coming 12 months will target additional resource expansion at the Golden Orb, Deception Hill, and Mt King targets.
