LinQ Minerals Limited (ASX: LNQ) has announced that final preparations are underway to commence drilling at the Gidginbung deposit, located within the Southern Zone of its flagship Gilmore Gold-Copper Project in New South Wales.
The company has appointed experienced contractor Drillit to execute Phase 1 of the drilling program, with mobilisation of the drill rig scheduled for late July and drilling activity set to begin shortly thereafter.
LinQ Minerals Executive Chair Clive Donner emphasised the significance of this milestone, stating: “Appointing Drillit to execute the phase 1 program is a strong step forward in our plan to unlock the potential at the Gilmore Project.”
Gidginbung already hosts a substantial Mineral Resource, however has never been systematically drilled at depth or along its broader strike extent.
Donner said the company sees this as a significant chance to enhance value, noting that the forthcoming drilling campaign will deliver the first results from Gidginbung in over twenty years — a meaningful and exciting milestone for both LinQ and its shareholders.
The initial drill program at Gidginbung is designed to test extensions of known mineralisation and explore previously untested depth potential.
The company aims to upgrade the existing Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and define higher-grade zones along the broader six-kilometre mineralised corridor.
The combined Gidginbung and Dam deposits currently host a resource of 55 million tonnes containing approximately 1.2 million ounces of gold and 120,000 tonnes of copper.
Notably, Gidginbung is a brownfields gold deposit that last produced gold in 1996, when prices averaged around $460 per ounce.
The Gilmore Project, 100 per cent owned by LinQ Minerals, is situated between West Wyalong and Temora in the Macquarie Arc province of the Lachlan Fold Belt — a region recognised as Australia’s premier porphyry gold-copper province and home to several large-scale operating mines.
LinQ holds approximately 597 square kilometres of tenements, encompassing a 60-kilometre belt with over 20 known prospects and six mineral resource deposits.
The project’s global Mineral Resource Estimate stands at 516 million tonnes, containing roughly 3.7 million ounces of gold and 1.2 million tonnes of copper.
The upcoming drilling campaign is a key part of LinQ’s strategy to expand resources, upgrade confidence in existing deposits, and unlock further value in one of Australia’s most prospective gold-copper regions.
