Magnum Mining and Exploration Ltd. has secured a major regulatory milestone after the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) determined the company’s exploratory drilling notice for the Parker gold-copper project in Arizona to be complete.
The clearance from the BLM’s Lake Havasu Field Office confirms that proposed exploration activities will not cause unnecessary environmental degradation, clearing a pathway for Magnum’s planned maiden drilling campaign. The notice will remain in effect for two years, subject to standard financial guarantee arrangements.
Located in La Paz County, Arizona, the Parker project sits within the underexplored Walker Trend, a highly prospective geological province hosting major historical gold, silver, and copper resources.
Magnum’s exploration strategy focuses on testing whether exceptional surface mineralisation extends into deeper structural targets.
Recent surface sampling and geophysical mapping across the property have defined approximately five kilometres of combined prospective strike length across three primary corridors: Eagle Nest, Red Breccia, and NSW Detachment.
Integrated target generation, backed by 457 soil samples, 131 rock-chip samples, and 3D airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys, has outlined nine distinct target areas.
Previous selective rock-chip sampling returned standout high-grade surface results, including 178 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 18.30 per cent copper and 142 g/t gold and 0.16 per cent copper.
Magnum Managing Director Antonio Vitor noted the significance of the regulatory approval in advancing the asset toward its first drill test.
“Magnum’s exploration-led strategy is focused on building shareholder value by advancing projects with significant discovery potential towards drill testing,” Vitor said.
“Parker is a clear fit, supported by strong surface mineralisation and extensive technical work completed to date. We are pleased to have reached this BLM milestone and look forward to progressing Parker towards first-pass drilling in due course.”
With notice completeness confirmed, Magnum is now finalising the required reclamation bond and making operational preparations to commence first-pass drilling.
