Artemis Resources has received final assays from the Q4 2020 42-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign and the first batch of results from the Q1 2021 55-hole RC campaign conducted at its Carlow Castle Gold-Copper-Cobalt Project in the west Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The Carlow Castle approximately 10,500 metre Q1 2021 RC drill campaign was expanded to 55 holes and is now complete. The campaign targeted step-out and resource extensions as well as new discovery zones and IP targets. It had numerous significant intercepts.
Some interesting holes showing variability of gold and copper mineralisation include:
RC hole ARC247 on East End of the Main Zone, outstanding copper and gold widths:
- 27 metres at 0.71 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold (Au), 1.51 per cent copper (Cu), 0.1 per cent Cobalt (Co) from 42 metres.
RC hole ARC255 on newly discovered CrossCut 1, north of the Main Zone, gold and copper-rich zones:
- 1 metre at 6.11g/t Au, 4.24 per cent Cu, 0.47 per cent Co from 86 metres;
- 7 metres at 2.57g/t Au, 2.07 per cent Cu, 0.24 per cent Co from 109 metres, including 3 metres at 4.23g/t Au, 2.56 per cent Cu, 0.43 per cent Co from 112 metres; and
- 11 metres at 0.75g/t Au, 1.33 per cent Cu, 0.12 per cent Co from 132 metres.
Other important drilling results were also returned, mostly from step-out and in-fill holes on the main 1.2 kilometre long mineralised zone:
- ARC256: 5 metres at 2.42g/t Au, 1.37 per cent Cu, 0.20 per cent Co from 125 metres;
- ARC257: 6 metres at 0.49g/t Au, 1.56 per cent Cu, 0.12 per cent Co from 41 metres;
- ARC263: 4 metres at 1.49g/t Au, 0.66 per cent Cu, 0.07 per cent Co from 248 metres;
- ARC265: 3 metres at 6.83g/t Au, 0.81 per cent Cu, 0.20 per cent Co from 144 metres;
- ARC265: 3 metres at 4.18g/t Au, 1.15 per cent Cu, 0.25 per cent Co from 205 metres;
- ARC265: 4 metres at 2.05g/t Au, 0.42 per cent Cu, 0.03 per cent Co from 244 metres;
- ARC266: 4 metres at 1.48g/t Au, 0.34 per cent Cu, 0.05 per cent Co from 166 metres; and
- ARC267: 2 metres at 3.06g/t Au, 2.48 per cent Cu, 0.10 per cent Co from 180 metres.
Further assay results from this programme are expected in the coming weeks.
Executive Director of Artemis Resources, Alastair Clayton, said the Carlow Castle Project continues to return excellent drilling results.
“Drilling the Main Zone is in-filling data gaps and extending the orebody down dip on what are becoming defined ore shoots. The Main Eastern zone is still only drilled to the 250 metres depth for the most part and remains open in multiple directions,” Mr Clayton said.
“The CrossCut 1 results continue to return high-grade gold, copper and cobalt on a set of mineralised trends that is believed to be oblique to the Main Zone and Quod Est Zone. This pushes the mineralised envelope a further 300 metres to the north, with a strike of more than 250 metres and still open.”
He noted that the Main Western zone, Quod Est and now CrossCut 1 are only shallowly drilled to about 100 metres below surface, which leaves the 1.2 kilometre long mineralised trend open at depth on numerous trends.
“With the 73 RC and DDH drill holes from the 2021 Q4 programme and now the 55 RC holes from the 2021 Q1 programme, our knowledge and understanding of the Carlow Castle mineral deposit has grown immensely as we keep expanding its over 1.2 kilometre known strike and open down-dip potential,” Mr Clayton commented.
The company has scheduled the next roughly 10,000 metre RC drill programme to commence in early April, which will include drill testing several compelling new exploration targets near Carlow Castle that have been identified by the ongoing IP survey. Further details of these new exploration targets are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
