Perpetual Resources has completed a major expansion of its Nevada Scheelite tungsten project in Mineral County, Nevada, securing 62 new lode mining claims that expand its land holding by more than 15 times its original size.
The land addition covers 1,272 acres surrounding the historic Nevada Scheelite underground mine. The expansion captures interpreted strike extensions of the core geological structure alongside prospective parallel trends that have seen limited modern exploration.
Historic production at Nevada Scheelite yielded approximately 328,747 short tonne units of tungsten trioxide at an average grade of 1.1 per cent between 1937 and 1957. Previous drilling recorded high-grade intercepts, including 8.2 metres at 2.40 per cent tungsten from 14 metres depth and 7.01 metres at 1.95 per cent tungsten from 5.55 metres.
Perpetual Executive Chairman Julian Babarczy said: “The addition of these 62 claims significantly changes the potential scale of Nevada Scheelite.
“We retain the advantages of a historically high-grade brownfields tungsten project, while now securing a much broader land position covering interpreted extensions and prospective parallel trends that have seen limited modern exploration.”
Babarczy added that Nevada Scheelite is not a historical tungsten occurrence.
“It was a significant US tungsten producer and was the subject of documented US government involvement through Bureau of Mines work and subsequent government-supported exploration during a period of heightened strategic demand for domestically sourced tungsten.”
The expanded footprint positions Perpetual to capitalise on growing US interest in securing domestic critical mineral supply chains. The company is nearing completion of 3D geological modelling that integrates extensive historical mine mapping, LiDAR, and underground drilling data.
Perpetual plans to execute a widespread soil geochemistry campaign to refine exploration targets across the newly staked ground.
The technical inputs will support drill target generation ahead of a maiden drilling program targeted for late 2026, subject to regulatory permitting and rig availability.
