Australian exploration company Right Resources Limited has received independent geological analysis pointing to the emergence of a significant new metallogenic province in New South Wales, with findings suggesting the company’s Pilot Gold Project in the Tumbarumba district shares characteristics with some of the world’s most productive gold systems.
The analysis, conducted by CODES (the Centre for Ore Deposit and Earth Sciences at the University of Tasmania), concludes that the Pilot Project is consistent with a Reduced Intrusion-Related Gold System, known in the industry as a RIRGS.
The determination draws on geological, geochemical and fluid inclusion evidence gathered across the district, and places Tumbarumba alongside globally recognised provinces including the Tintina Gold Province spanning Alaska and the Yukon.
CODES is regarded as one of the foremost research groups in large-scale ore deposit systems worldwide.
In its March 2026 newsletter, the group described its ongoing work as advancing understanding of the hydrothermal history behind newly discovered gold and associated copper systems across the Tumbarumba district.
For Right Resources, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker RRE, the findings carry weight well beyond the Pilot Project itself.
RIRGS systems are considered large-scale mineral systems, and the geological controls identified in the Tumbarumba district are seen as consistent with provinces that have yielded substantial gold and polymetallic endowment.
The company notes that current drilling at Pilot appears to be testing distal zones relative to the core of the system, underscoring the importance of metal zonation as a tool for vectoring toward higher-grade domains at depth and along strike.
The independent classification has also informed regional exploration beyond the primary gold target.
The evolving geological framework has supported targeting work that led to the Blue Prospect tungsten discovery, adding a polymetallic dimension to the district’s prospectivity.
The company interprets the Tumbarumba district as hosting gold-tungsten prospectivity across multiple potential mineral systems, with early-stage characteristics consistent with intrusion-related gold environments.
On the analytical front, Right Resources has transitioned to larger sample mass methods (specifically PhotonAssay and Screen Fire Assay) to more accurately represent gold distribution in the mineralised material.
These techniques are better suited to coarse or nuggety gold occurrences, which can underperform under conventional fire assay methods.
Re-assay results for the first drill hole, designated RRPT0001, are expected to be received within one to three weeks.
The company has also commenced strategic partnership and funding discussions, a development the board attributes in part to the maturing geological understanding of the district and the credibility lent by the CODES engagement.
Right Resources stated it is pleased with the direction of exploration and the independent support for its district-scale thesis.
With updated assay results anticipated shortly and the geological framework continuing to develop, the company appears positioned to test the significance of the Tumbarumba district as a potential new addition to Australia’s gold-tungsten mineral endowment.
