Pinnacle Minerals Ltd (ASX: PIM), a prominent player in the technology minerals market, has announced the commencement of a significant air-core drilling program at the Capel Mineral Sands Project, located in the resource-rich southwest region of Western Australia.
The extensive drilling campaign, conducted by Wallis Drilling, involves a 2,000-metre air-core drill across 93 holes, aimed at exploring the potential of heavy mineral sands (HMS) mineralisation.
The program, which began on schedule, is expected to be completed within nine days.
Samples will be analysed by Diamantina Laboratories to assess the viability and scale of the mineralisation.
The Capel Mineral Sands Project has previously shown promising signs of mineralisation, with adjacent areas like the Iluka Capel South Deposit reporting significant reserves.
Initial results from the first seven holes have confirmed the presence of HMS mineralisation, encouraging further exploration.
Nic Matich, Managing Director of Pinnacle Minerals, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: “Executing the first drilling program of 2024 on a brownfields project where previous exploration has defined thick heavy mineral sands mineralisation is an exciting time for the Company.
“We have progressed from access agreements to the drilling campaign within five months and look forward to investigating synergies with other operators in the region should the exploration campaign be successful.”
