Polymetals Resources has continued to ramp up operations at its Endeavor mine during the December quarter despite operations being disrupted following a fatal mine incident in late October 2025.
Operations at the mine were disrupted after two employees were fatally injured on October 28 after a ballistic disc accidentally detonated.
Following the incident, Polymetals undertook an independent investigation and comprehensive review of its procedures for the handling and use of explosives.
Operations restarted in November, with mining moving from day shift to continuous shift over the following two weeks.
Polymetals Chairman Dave Sproule said: “The December 2025 quarter was defined by two contrasting realities: continued progress toward steady‑state operations at Endeavor and the profound impact of the tragic incident at the mine on October 28.
“Operationally, the quarter was challenging, with disruptions to productivity during the necessary cessation of operations. Our immediate priority was to respectfully nurture the welfare of our people, the families affected, and the broader community.”
Despite these challenges, the company achieved key milestones. Polymetals completed its first silver-lead and zinc concentrate shipments during the quarter.
Mining also commenced from the high-grade silver Upper North Lode, which will extend over two years. The significant increase in silver price will bolster the company’s forecast cash flow.
Polymetals is also planning to develop the Deep Zinc Lode (DZL), located at the base of the Endeavor mine.
Mining from the lode aims to “fill the mill” to its treatment capacity of 100,000 tonnes per month. The company will fund development of the DZL from cash flow and plans to commence during the June 2026 quarter. First stoping of DZL ore is scheduled in the first half of 2027.
“In conclusion, the December quarter has been very challenging, however I am pleased to report the hard work completed by many at Endeavor over the past eighteen months is now demonstrating the underlying strength of the asset, the capability of our team and the quality of the opportunity ahead for the project,” Sproule said.
