US — American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR) has announced exceptional results from its 2024 drilling campaign at the Cowboy State Mine area within the Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming.
The final assay results from the last five holes of the campaign have revealed some of the highest-grade Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) intersections ever recorded at the site, solidifying the project’s position as one of North America’s most promising rare earth developments.
The drilling campaign has uncovered multiple high-grade intersections exceeding 5,000 parts per million (ppm) TREO.
Notably, drill hole HC24-RM046 yielded an impressive 148.0 metres at 4,451 ppm TREO, including a 52.5-metre section at 5,273 ppm TREO with a maximum of 6,198 ppm TREO.
Other significant intervals include:
- HC24-RM048: 161.5 metres at 4,275 ppm TREO, with a 40.5-metre section at 5,287 ppm TREO (maximum 5,869 ppm TREO)
- HC24-RM049: 90.0 meters at 4,353 ppm TREO, including 16.5 metres at 5,313 ppm TREO (maximum 6,049 ppm TREO)
These results confirm the presence of extensive high-grade zones within the deposit, reinforcing the project’s potential.
Chris Gibbs, CEO of American Rare Earths, emphasised the significance of these findings, stating: “These exceptional results showcase Halleck Creek’s potential to become a flagship rare earth project for North America.
“The high-grade TREO zones identified underscore the significant scale and quality of the deposit and strengthen our confidence in the project’s future.”
The Halleck Creek Project is strategically positioned to support the U.S. government’s objectives in securing domestic critical mineral supply chains.
With its potential to become one of the largest and most sustainable rare earth projects in North America, Halleck Creek could play a crucial role in both defence industry applications and the ongoing energy transition.
American Rare Earths is now poised to update its geological models and resource estimates based on these promising results.
The company has recently engaged with BMO Capital Markets and is collaborating with industry experts to accelerate the development of this world-class asset.
As the demand for rare earth elements continues to grow, driven by clean energy technologies and national security concerns, the Halleck Creek Project stands out as a potential cornerstone in North America’s rare earth supply.
With its focus on developing environmentally friendly and cost-effective extraction and processing methods, American Rare Earths is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for these critical resources.
The company is on track to complete an updated resource estimate and a pre-feasibility study for Halleck Creek in 2025, marking significant milestones in the project’s development journey.
