Right Resources Limited (ASX: RRE) has commenced maiden aircore drilling at its Blue Prospect, located approximately 22km north of Tumbarumba in New South Wales, marking the first subsurface test of a series of tungsten and gold targets identified through more than a year of surface exploration.
The fully funded first-stage program comprises approximately 2,000 metres across around 60 aircore holes and represents the initial phase of a broader drilling campaign previously flagged by the company.
Drilling will test six tungsten and five gold soil anomalies for the first time, following extensive geological mapping, rock-chip sampling, soil geochemistry and structural interpretation carried out during 2026.
Managing Director Graham Howard said the start of drilling was a significant step for the company.
“The commencement of drilling at Blue is an important milestone for Right Resources and follows a sustained program of mapping, geological sampling, geochemistry and metallurgical work,” said Howard.
Howard added that the program marks a new phase in the company’s understanding of the system.
“For the first time, we are testing below surface across a number of our priority tungsten and gold targets,” said Howard.
The drilling follows approval in August 2026 of the Level 2 Forestry Corporation of NSW Permit and an Assessable Prospecting Operation approval covering exploration licence EL9028.
Those approvals permit up to 120 aircore holes and leave open the possibility of deeper reverse circulation or diamond drilling should results warrant further investigation.
The company said the current program is not intended to define a Mineral Resource.
Instead, it is designed to generate the first subsurface geological and geochemical picture of the Blue system, testing whether the mineralisation and geochemical trends mapped at surface persist at depth.
Results will be used to assess the grade tenor, geometry and continuity of shallow mineralisation, rank the strongest targets and guide the direction of follow-up drilling.
Initial holes will focus on accessible targets within EL9028.
A second-stage program is proposed for later in the December Quarter of 2026, targeting interpreted extensions of the mineralised system within the adjacent EL9889 licence area.
That stage remains subject to regulatory approvals and will be refined using data gathered from the current program.
Assay results from the first-stage drilling are expected to be released progressively during the December Quarter of 2026, with timing dependent on drilling progress and laboratory turnaround times.
The Blue Prospect has emerged as a priority target for Right Resources following a systematic exploration effort combining mapping, sampling and geochemical analysis.
The current drilling represents the company’s first opportunity to test whether the surface anomalism translates into meaningful mineralisation at depth, a step management has described as central to unlocking the broader potential of the project area.
With approvals in hand for up to 120 aircore holes and a pathway to deeper drilling if results justify it, Right Resources is expected to deliver both immediate geological insight and a foundation for the next phase of exploration.
Shareholders and the market will be watching for the first assay results in the coming months, which are expected to provide an early indication of whether the tungsten and gold anomalies at Blue extend below surface in economically significant concentrations.
