Zenith Minerals has confirmed strong gold mineralisation at its wholly owned Auburn Project in Queensland.
The positive results come from a new round of rock-chip sampling that returned high gold grades from surface-level assays.
The Auburn Project, operating under exploration permit EPM 2751, sits on the eastern edge of the Auburn Arc within the New England Orogen.
Grab sampling conducted in December 2025 produced standout gold assay results, with grades reaching up to 7.96 grams per tonne (g/t) and 6.76g/t.
These samples were collected from the Blast historic workings, an area long recognised for its potential but until recently only lightly explored by modern methods.
Earlier reconnaissance rock-chip sampling conducted by Zenith in 2022 supported this latest data, identifying nine out of 49 samples that returned gold grades higher than 1g/t.
The highlight of that earlier campaign was a sample assaying 23.3g/t gold from the New Camp site, suggesting a mineralised system extending across multiple prospects.
Complementing these rock-chip programs, a 2022 soil sampling survey by Zenith mapped gold anomalies extending up to 600 metres in strike length.
These anomalies were concentrated along a north-west structural trend connecting the Blast and New Camp workings, indicating structural continuity of gold-bearing zones across the project area.
The company plans to build on this momentum through a staged exploration approach.
Upcoming activities include an infill soil sampling campaign to refine known anomalies, followed by an initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling program within the next six months, subject to the completion of regulatory approvals.
The RC drilling will target the most promising areas identified by both the 2022 and 2025 geochemical data sets.
Further exploration will also expand Zenith’s regional soil survey footprint and extend mapping into newly defined structural zones.
The company intends to integrate additional rock-chip sampling and detailed geological mapping across historic mine sites, including Blast, New Camp, and Big Wonder, to confirm the continuity of mineralisation between these prospects.
Zenith Minerals managing director Andrew Smith said the results reinforced the company’s confidence in the project’s potential and the broader geological system at play.
“The Auburn results highlight a consistent gold footprint across multiple prospects within the project area,” he said.
“Recent high-grade grab sampling, together with earlier Zenith rock-chip and soil results, reinforces the prospectivity of the system and supports our focus on advancing targeted follow-up work, including preparation for initial drill testing
The strong assay results mark an encouraging return to exploration growth for Zenith after restructuring its asset portfolio in 2024.
In September 2024, the company completed the sale of its remaining 49 per cent interest in the Develin Creek Copper-Zinc Project to QMines, freeing up capital and resources to advance its gold-focused exploration objectives in Queensland and across its broader portfolio.
With new high-grade results and a clear plan to progress toward drilling, the Auburn Project is emerging as a promising gold prospect within one of eastern Australia’s most mineralised terrains.
