Catalyst Metals Limited has strengthened its senior management team with the appointments of Ben MacKinnon as CFO and Rob Williamson as COO.
MacKinnon, a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years of experience across resources, capital markets, acquisitions, and mining contracting, joins Catalyst after serving as CFO at copper and zinc producer Develop Global Ltd. from 2023 to 2026.
He previously held the CFO role at private drilling contractor DDH1 Drilling, overseeing multiple strategic acquisitions and leading its successful listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.
Williamson brings over two decades of domestic and international mining engineering expertise to the role of COO. He most recently served as Executive General Manager for Northern Star Resources’ Yandal operations, managing the Jundee and Thunderbox operating centres.
His background also includes managing Saracen Mineral Holdings’ Carosue Dam operations alongside extensive experience across base metals, tunnelling, and contracting.
The board expressed its gratitude to Sylvain Guillaume, who stepped in as interim CFO over the past 12 months during a key transitional period for the company. Guillaume will remain with Catalyst to lead commercial projects.
Catalyst Managing Director and CEO James Champion de Crespigny welcomed both executives, noting that their operationally focused and contracting mindsets would place the business in good stead for its next phase of growth.
“We are pleased to have Rob and Ben joining us before the end of the year. Both bring a new take on the business. Their operationally focused, contracting mindset we hope places the company in good stead for the next phase of the business’ life.”
Together with Anthony Buckingham, MacKinnon and Williamson will manage Catalyst’s core value drivers spanning finance, capital management, operations, and project delivery.
Both executives are scheduled to take up their positions before the end of the year as the company advances its Australian gold asset portfolio.
