Catalyst Metals Ltd. has reported a substantial boost to its growth trajectory in Western Australia, revealing a 280 per cent increase in the mineral resource estimate for its Keillor gold mine on the historic Plutonic Gold Belt.
Following intensive drilling throughout the calendar year, the resource at Keillor has expanded to 3.2 million tonnes at 3 grams per tonne of gold for 307,000 ounces, up significantly from its previous 81,000-ounce resource.
Keillor had seen little to no exploration for a quarter of a century due to fragmented historical ownership. Catalyst initiated drilling late last year, completing roughly 30,000 metres of underground drilling to unlock the deposit’s potential and extend its mine life beyond an initial three-year window.
The indicated underground portion of the resource jumped 500 per cent to 187,000 ounces. An updated ore reserve estimate for the deposit is set for release in the coming weeks.
Catalyst CEO James Champion de Crespigny said the exploration milestone strengthens the company’s broader operational strategy.
“Catalyst has long targeted ±2Moz of Reserves across the Plutonic Gold Belt. Achieving such a target would provide a long-term foundation upon which to build reliable cashflows for the Catalyst business,” Champion de Crespigny said.
“Furthermore, the potential extension of the life of Keillor, an already operating mine, provides high grade, low capital intensity, high margin ounces and gives further support for the stated objective of a 10-year mine plan targeting ±200koz a year of annual production.”
First ore from Keillor was extracted in the June 2026 quarter, with mine ramp-up progressing smoothly. Keillor is the third of six deposits Catalyst plans to bring into production to double its annual gold output to around 200,000 ounces via its central 2Mtpa central CIL processing facility.
Development capital for Keillor is now largely spent. Surface infrastructure including offices, workshops and power station are established.
Catalyst expects the ongoing capital requirements for Keillor will be limited to mine development.
