Westgold Resources has released an updated three-year outlook that charts a fully funded pathway to expand gold production up to 510,000 ounces annually by fiscal 2029.
The gold miner expects fiscal 2027 production to land between 385,000 and 425,000 ounces, supported by AU$450 million to AU$480 million in growth capital.
Investment will peak in 2027 as the company accelerates underground mine development, expands its Murchison processing infrastructure, and funds up to AU$75 million in exploration and resource definition drilling.
Under the expanded strategy, Westgold’s total group processing capacity is projected to cross 7.2 million tonnes per annum by fiscal 2029.
This will be driven by brownfield expansions at its Cue hub in 2027 and Meekatharra hub in 2028, adding a combined 1.4 million tonnes of regional milling capacity.
Increased higher-grade ore availability and higher mill throughput are expected to drive unit operational costs down significantly over time.
Westgold forecasts its all-in sustaining costs (AISC) will drop from AU$2,980 to AU$3,380 per ounce in 2027 to AU$2,640 to AU$3,000 per ounce by 2029 on a 2027 real-cost basis.
Westgold CEO Wayne Bramwell described the updated outlook as a high-confidence, executable growth model.
“This plan is fully funded with Group All-In Sustaining costs forecast to fall as the benefits of higher-grade ore availability and expansion of key Murchison mines and processing capacity… are realised, delivering enhanced group cashflow,” Bramwell said.
“The capital program reflects a deliberate decision to prioritise Murchison investment and utilise Westgold’s strong balance sheet, improving reserve confidence and growing mining inventories to invest ahead of production.”
The company noted the outlook leaves further upside unmodeled, including the high-potential Fletcher Zone at the Beta Hunt mine in the Southern Goldfields.
Internal studies indicate Fletcher alone could eventually add roughly 140,000 ounces annually, potentially pushing Westgold’s broader group production beyond 600,000 ounces per year in the future.
