Caprice Resources Ltd (ASX:CRS) has confirmed base metals potential during the maiden drill program at the Lady Sampson prospect within its Northampton Polymetallic Project in Western Australia.
Caprice’s drill program at Lady Sampson consisted of 11 reverse circulation holes for 938 metres, the first time any drilling had been done in the area.
The first drill hole returned excellent results – which were announced in early March – showing outstanding grades and widths of mineralisation from 39 metres down hole.
The remaining holes have confirmed the mineralisation, delineating a north-northwest strike with a likely steep easterly dip.
Results include:
- 7 metres at 3.5% lead and 1.1 g/t silver from 59 metres, including 2 metres at 7% lead and 2.1 g/t silver from 59 metres;
- 5 metres at 3.1% lead and 1.8 g/t silver from 46 metres, including 1 metre at 7.4% lead and 2.7 g/t silver from 50 metres;
- 6 metres at 2.2% lead and 1.0 g/t silver from 53 metres; and
- 2 metres at 3.0% zinc and 1.1 g/t silver from 56 metres.
Anomalism and mineralisation has been delineated over at least 1,000 metres and remains open at depth and along strike.
The next round of drilling is scheduled to commence in the next one to two weeks.
This program will test strike extents and depth continuity and will be of similar magnitude to the maiden RC program.
Caprice Managing Director Andrew Muir said: “We are very excited by the results from this maiden drill program at Lady Sampson.
“The program has highlighted the potential for mineralisation in this previously untested area, with the zone remaining open at depth and along strike.
“The imminent follow up drilling will give further insight into continuity, metal zonation as well as depth and strike extents.”
