Cooper Metals Limited (ASX:CPM) has built on the successful maiden drilling program in June, with recent reverse-circulation drilling at the King Solomon copper-gold prospect within its Mt Isa East copper-gold project delivering significant results.
Assay results from 11 of the 27 drill holes have been received, with new significant higher grade intersections at King Solomon including:
- 19m at 1.6% Cu & 0.21g/t Au from 123m, including 5m at 4.5% Cu & 0.57g/t Au
- 7m at 1.5% Cu & 0.16g/t Au from 123m, including 4m at 2.2% Cu & 0.26g/t Au
- 14m at 1.0% Cu & 0.09g/t Au from 76m, including 4m at 2.1% Cu & 0.23g/t Au
- 5m at 1.1% Cu & 0.15g/t Au from 112m
- 10m at 1.0% Cu & 0.04g/t Au from 50m, including 3m at 2.1% Cu & 0.08g/t Au
- 3m at 1.2% Cu & 0.1g/t Au from 91m, including 1m at 2.7% Cu & 0.21 g/t Au
- 2m at 1.6% Cu & 0.05g/t Au from 86m
- 1m at 1.3% Cu from 107m
The maiden drilling program intersected an excellent result of 17m at 2.2% Cu from 84 metres, including 8m at 4.3% Cu from 84 metres
King Solomon’s copper-gold mineralisation has been extended to the north, south, and down dip, with remaining assays pending to confirm continuity.
Broad zones of low-grade copper mineralisation and magnetite and pyrite alteration with higher-grade core centered around the host shear zone indicate a large iron oxide copper-gold system (IOCG).
Cooper Metals managing director Ian Warland said: “King Solomon continues to deliver outstanding copper-gold intercepts along a well-defined shear zone traced for over 700m in strike length.
“Mineralisation has been intersected to over 100m deep and is open at depth.
“The IP is proving to be an invaluable guide to IOCG style of mineralisation found at King Solomon.
“With just under half the drill holes assayed to date and the laboratory processing the rest of the samples as a priority, we expect to update the market shortly.”
