Daly Resources Ltd. has received a AU$150,000 co-funding grant by the Northern Territory government to deploy advanced airborne exploration technology at its prospective Broughton copper-zinc project.
The funding, secured under Round 19 of the NT Government’s Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations Program, will directly support a major regional airborne electromagnetic (VTEM) survey.
Scheduled to kick off in the third quarter of 2026, the high-resolution survey will span more than 2,018 line kilometres across two priority blocks within granted exploration licences EL32992 and EL32993.
Located roughly 600 kilometres southeast of Darwin in the northern McArthur Basin, the Broughton project sits within the globally renowned Carpentaria Zinc Belt.
While historical exploration on the tenure has already flagged multiple base metal prospects alongside broad copper-zinc surface geochemical anomalies, the upcoming survey will provide Daly with its very first modern airborne electromagnetic dataset over these critical zones.
Daly Executive Chairman Mike Edwards thanked the Northern Territory government for its structural backing, emphasising the value of regional collaboration.
“This co-funding will support a key step in advancing the Broughton Cu-Zn Project, allowing Daly to acquire a modern airborne electromagnetic dataset across priority target corridors,” Edwards said.
“The survey is designed to test the relationship between surface copper-zinc anomalism, favourable stratigraphy and interpreted structural corridors, and is expected to materially improve our ability to define higher-confidence targets for follow-up exploration.”
The technical team intends to use the VTEM data to map subsurface conductivity variations, basin architecture, and deep fluid pathways.
According to Daly’s exploration model, the surface anomalies may represent leakage from a much larger, concealed mineral system trapped underneath sedimentary layers.
Once the airborne data is captured, it will be integrated with existing geological and geochemical datasets.
The company will prioritise discrete conductive anomalies that coincide with structural complexities, laying the groundwork for a targeted follow-up drilling campaign.
