Iltani Resources Ltd. has reported exceptional high-grade silver, lead, zinc, and indium results from its ongoing drilling program at the Orient silver-indium project in Herberton, North Queensland.
Assay results from reverse circulation (RC) drill holes ORR160 to ORR164 and ORR166, part of an expansive 110-hole campaign, highlighted extensive mineralisation at the Orient East target.
Drill hole ORR164 stood out with two thick, high-grade zones. The shallower Upper Zone returned 28 metres at 95 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 7 g/t indium, 2.1 per cent lead, and 2.9 per cent zinc (317 g/t silver equivalent) from 38 metres downhole.
This included a ultra-high-grade peak interval of 1 metre at 398 g/t silver, 59 g/t indium, 8.4 per cent lead, and 19.1 per cent zinc (1,683 g/t silver equivalent) from 58 metres.
The deeper Lower Zone in ORR164 intersected 30 metres at 38 g/t silver (117 g/t silver equivalent) from 92 metres, including 1 metre grading 1,006 g/t silver equivalent.
Iltani Managing Director Donald Garner noted that mineralisation in ORR164 remains open down-dip, with follow-up drilling already planned.
“Assay results continue to flow from our Orient drilling, and the first results from Orient East have returned multiple outstanding intercepts,” Garner said.
“The intercepts in ORR164 are particularly impressive – delivering two wide intercepts of high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation with exceptional high-grade massive sulphide mineralisation at the core.”
To date, Iltani has completed 81 RC holes totaling 15,485 metres across the Orient East and Orient West deposits, with regular assay batches pending.
A diamond drill rig has also been deployed to site to collect core samples for metallurgical testing, including ore-sorting trials with TOMRA. Successful ore sorting could potentially render lower-grade mineralisation at Orient West economically viable within a future open-pit operation.
Orient is Australia’s largest known silver-indium deposit. The Herberton Mineral Field is a highly prospective terrain with a long history of mining.
