Eminence Minerals Ltd. has expanded its rare earth portfolio in South America, lodging three exploration licence applications covering roughly 3,697 hectares in southern Bahia, Brazil.
The applications have been consolidated into the Tayra rare earth project, located within the prospective Itarantim–Maiquinique rare earths district. Portions of the newly targeted ground sit directly adjacent to the Itarantim project, held by NYSE American-listed IMC Rare Earths.
Initial desktop analysis indicates that approximately 84 per cent of the project area features low-relief terrain under 15 per cent gradient, a key topographic characteristic that supports the preservation of deeply weathered regolith profiles hosting ionic adsorption clay (IAC) deposits.
Desktop radiometric data also displays elevated relative thorium dominance, similar to patterns seen over adjoining ground.
Eminence Minerals CEO Anthony Hills said the project provides a capital-efficient entry into an emerging rare earth province.
“Securing the Tayra REE Project gives Eminence a highly capital-efficient, high-upside foothold in an emerging ionic clay rare earth district,” Hills said.
“Importantly, we are entering the district at very low cost and will now apply a disciplined exploration strategy to test the geological model.
“Tayra provides Eminence with a strategically located exploration platform in one of Brazil’s increasingly recognised rare earth districts, while maintaining a disciplined approach to capital allocation and exploration risk.”
The company noted that protolith fertility represents the primary technical risk, as the ground is mapped on orthogneiss and the presence of a weatherable, rare earth-bearing source rock beneath the surface remains unproven.
To address this, Eminence plans to launch a staged, low-cost exploration program once the Brazilian National Mining Agency (ANM) grants the licences.
Initial field activities will focus on desktop data refinement, geological mapping, regolith profiling, and targeted geochemical sampling before considering auger drilling.
Located near established infrastructure with access to sealed roads, grid power, and regional mining services, the Tayra project adds an important foothold to Eminence’s Brazilian exploration platform.
