Right Resources has announced the first identification of gold through modern exploration at its Blue Prospect, located approximately 22 kilometres north of Tumbarumba in New South Wales.
The discovery opens a significant new exploration opportunity within the company’s broader Tumbarumba portfolio.
The finding follows a program of systematic rock-chip sampling, laboratory soil geochemistry and geological mapping, which together have confirmed the presence of gold within quartz and quartz-tourmaline veins across an extensive tungsten-bismuth-gold mineralised system.
The Blue Prospect intrusive complex is interpreted to extend over more than 4.7km by 3.4km and remains open in all directions.
Rock-chip sampling across the prospect returned gold grades of up to 1.19 g/t Au, with the mineralisation hosted in quartz and quartz-tourmaline veins associated with the broader intrusive system.
Nine rock-chip samples returned strongly anomalous gold and bismuth grades within a newly defined north-west structural corridor.
Peak results from this program include 1.19 g/t Au alongside 76 ppm Bi, 0.81 g/t Au with 299 ppm Bi, and 0.40 g/t Au with 109 ppm Bi.
The company noted a strong spatial relationship between gold and bismuth across the prospect, reinforcing its interpretation that Blue forms part of a large reduced intrusion-related tungsten and gold system.
This style of mineralisation is typically associated with proximity to an underlying intrusive core, making the gold-bismuth signature a valuable exploration indicator for the company going forward.
Complementing the rock-chip results, laboratory multi-element soil analysis has defined strong northwest, east-northeast and subsidiary northeast gold trends across the prospect area.
These trends sit alongside multiple coincident tungsten and bismuth anomalies, further supporting the interpretation of a large, zoned mineral system with gold as a key pathfinder element.
Together, the rock-chip, soil geochemistry and mapping results establish gold as an important new component of the Blue exploration story, adding a further dimension to a prospect that had previously been defined primarily by its tungsten anomalism.
Managing Director Graham Howard said the results represented a meaningful step forward in the company’s understanding of the system.
“The laboratory results have converted what was already a large surface tungsten anomaly into a clearly defined series of tungsten, bismuth and gold targets,” said Howard.
He said the company had now outlined a 5km mineralised north-west trend, along with cross-cutting target zones and two top priority areas identified for further exploration.
He added that the relationship between gold and bismuth provided an important vector for future work.
“With surface grades of up to 1.19 grams per tonne gold and seven primary multi-element targets, we now have a clear framework for the next phase of work,” said Howard.
The Blue Prospect results add to Right Resources’ growing exploration portfolio in the Tumbarumba region of New South Wales, an area increasingly recognised for its prospectivity for reduced intrusion-related gold and tungsten systems.
With multiple priority targets now defined, the company is positioned to advance a focused follow-up exploration program aimed at testing the newly identified gold and bismuth anomalies alongside the existing tungsten mineralisation.
