Golden Horse has mobilised a second diamond drill rig ahead of schedule at its Hopes Hill project, increasing total drilling capacity on site to four rigs, as strong gold mineralisation continues to be confirmed in both the Central and Southern Zones.
The latest diamond hole from the Central Zone, GHHHRCD0068, intersected a broad high-grade zone including 28.7 metres at 3.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 192 metres, with a standout result of 4.5 metres at 20.9 g/t gold from 202.5 metres.
The hole also returned 6 metres at 2.7 g/t gold from 250 metres, all within a wide intercept of 86 metres at 1.6 g/t gold from 192 metres.
In the Southern Zone, drilling has continued to confirm extensions of the Hopes Hill mineralised system, with hole GHHHRC0092 intersecting 11 metres at 2.4 g/t gold from 154 metres, including 3 metres at 5.1 g/t gold from 162 metres.
This result forms part of a broader 25-metre intersection grading 1.3 g/t gold from 154 metres, further firming up the southerly plunge of the system.
Results from these intersections highlight the potential for significant extensions in both strike and depth.
With four rigs now on site — two diamond and two reverse circulation (RC) — Golden Horse has reallocated one RC rig to focus on higher priority exploration targets located 500 metres south-east of the historic Hopes Hill pit.
RC drilling has also commenced along strike south of the main Hopes Hill system to test several shallow historic mine workings, with initial assays expected in the coming weeks.
Golden Horse Managing Director, Nicholas Anderson said: “We are very encouraged by these latest results from Hopes Hill, with the first diamond drill hole in the Central Zone confirming thick, high-grade gold mineralisation over 86 metres.
“Importantly, the standout intercept of 28.7m @ 3.8 g/t Au, including 4.5m @ 20.9 g/t Au demonstrates the strength and continuity of the system and validates our RC drilling and geophysical targeting model.
“The decision to fast-track a second diamond rig to site was driven by the scale and quality of mineralisation we are seeing.
“With four rigs now turning, including RC drilling targeting near-mine and step-out exploration 500 metres south-east of the historic Hopes Hill pit, we are rapidly building a clearer picture of this +1.3km mineralised corridor.”
The Hopes Hill gold project is shaping up as a significant emerging resource, with drilling consistently delivering wide, high-grade intersections across multiple zones.
The mineralised corridor now extends more than 1.3 kilometres in strike length, with both near-mine and step-out drilling designed to expand the resource base while informing ongoing geological modelling.
Golden Horse will continue its accelerated drill program over the coming weeks, with ongoing diamond holes in the Central Zone and newly commenced RC drilling south of the pit.
The company expects a steady flow of results to build on its current momentum as it advances towards defining a potential high-grade gold resource at Hopes Hill.
