Great Boulder Resources has revealed spectacular high-grade drilling results from its Side Well gold project in Western Australia, headlined by a massive intersection of 4,434 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold at the Mulga Bill deposit.
The results, part of a deep drilling program co-funded by the Western Australian government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), confirm that high-grade gold mineralisation extends significantly further below the surface than previously proven.
Great Boulder Managing Director Andrew Paterson said: “These spectacular results highlight the huge scope to continue growing the one million ounces resource at Side Well.
“Combined with the outstanding hit 90 metres west of the resource, the implications of these results for the overall resource are clearly significant. We have multiple rigs on site to follow up these results immediately.”
The standout assay came from drill hole 25MBRCD002A, which intersected 1.93 metres at 574.39g/t of gold from 502 metres, including a 0.25 metres at 4,434g/t of gold from 503.68 metres.
This intersection occurred 430 metres below the surface, proving that the high-grade vein systems continue at depth.
Given that the Mulga Bill-Eaglehawk resource already spans a 2.5-kilometre strike length, these deep hits suggest a massive untapped potential for resource expansion beneath the existing 782,000 ounces of gold mineral resource estimate.
Beyond the deep drilling success, exploration 90m west of the main 642,000 ounces Mulga Bill resource has uncovered two entirely new gold lodes. Significant intercepts from hole 25MBRCD001A include 0.74 metres at 48.30g/t gold from 168.6 metres.
These discoveries represent previously untested areas and will be the immediate focus of follow-up reverse circulation drilling.
An RC rig is currently active in the gap between Mulga Bill and Eaglehawk, while a diamond rig is scheduled to return this week to follow up on the ultra-high-grade hits.
The company is designing additional RC drilling programs for ongoing work at Mulga Bill, Eaglehawk and Golden Bracelet in order to mobilise additional rigs and accelerate resource growth at Side Well.
