Litchfield Minerals Limited (ASX: LMS) has announced significant discoveries at its Mt Doreen Project in the West Arunta region of Northern Territory, Australia.
The company’s recent drilling campaign has revealed substantial base metal sulphides, indicating potential for high-grade polymetallic mineralisation in the area.
The standout results came from drill hole LMRD004 at the Silver King Project, which yielded impressive intercepts:
- 17m @ 2.47% Pb, 1.06% Zn, 15.7 g/t Ag from 49m
- Including 3m @ 11.84% Pb, 5.62% Zn, 0.1% Cu, 57.1 g/t Ag from 51m
- 33m @ 0.57% Zn, 0.28% Pb, 1.9 g/t Ag from surface
Sulphides were encountered throughout all four diamond holes drilled at Silver King, suggesting potential for extensive and higher-grade mineralisation across the Mt Doreen Project.
Litchfield Minerals is employing advanced exploration techniques to further develop the project:
- A tenement-wide VTEM survey is scheduled to begin on August 23rd, designed to detect and model Silver King-type mineralisation.
- The company has partnered with PGN Geosciences to deliver a comprehensive litho-structural interpretation, aiming to refine exploration targets within the tenement.
- Ground gravity surveys over Patmungula and Dumunzi have been completed, with results expected soon.
Matthew Pustahya, Managing Director and CEO of Litchfield Minerals, expressed enthusiasm about the findings: “The team is thrilled with the results from LMRD004 at Silver King, West Arunta, Mount Doreen. These findings confirm our long-held belief that the Mount Doreen project is fertile, with the potential to generate high-grade polymetallic systems.”
Pustahya also highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance their understanding of the area: “Our strategy of continuously acquiring more data is significantly enhancing our understanding of the area, guiding us toward the discovery of a potentially much larger mineralised system.”
Litchfield Minerals’ inaugural drilling campaign at the Mt Doreen Project targeted three prospects (Silver King, Mt Irene, Copper Flats), with twelve holes totalling 1,769 metres.
The promising results from Silver King have prompted plans for further exploration to fully understand the extent of the resource.
As the company continues to gather and analyse data from various sources, including the upcoming VTEM survey and Sentinel data review, investors and industry observers will be watching closely for further developments at this promising project in the Northern Territory.
