Medallion Metals Ltd. has secured all key regulatory approvals required to begin physical development at its Ravensthorpe gold project (RGP) in Western Australia.
The final regulatory clearance follows formal approval of the project’s mining development and closure plan (MDCP) along with a Section 45C amendment to Ministerial Statement 1143.
Together, the statutory approvals complete the primary permitting process and enable Medallion to proceed immediately with its published development schedule.
With the regulatory phase finalised, the company is shifting its primary focus to operational execution, early cash flow generation, and on-site mine development. Initial development activities will begin shortly at the Kundip Mining Centre, where underground operations are planned.
Under Medallion’s integrated production model, the company’s early production strategy remains on track for implementation in the third quarter of 2026.
Modifications, refurbishment, and commissioning of the nearby Cosmic Boy Concentrator will progress in parallel, with the first Ravensthorpe ore expected to arrive at the processing facility in the second quarter of 2027.
Medallion Metals Managing Director Paul Bennett said the receipt of final state permits concludes an intensive 18-month preparation period for the company.
“Securing these key regulatory approvals is a significant milestone for Medallion and completes the regulatory pathway required to execute our production strategy,” Bennett said.
“Over the past 18 months we have consistently delivered the major milestones required to advance the business, from project acquisition and financing through to permitting and the Early Production Strategy.
“With those foundations now in place, our focus turns to execution,” Mr Bennett added.
“Development activities will commence in accordance with our published schedule as we progress towards first production.”
The Ravensthorpe gold project forms part of Medallion’s broader gold and copper production strategy in southern Western Australia, leveraging established regional processing infrastructure to shorten construction schedules, lower upfront capital requirements, and establish a sustainable long-term production platform.
