New Murchison Gold Limited (ASX: NMG) has reported a string of high-grade gold intercepts from its regional exploration program across the Abbotts Greenstone Belt in Western Australia’s Murchison region, further cementing the district-scale potential of its 677 square kilometre tenement package.
The latest results, returned from multiple prospects outside the company’s flagship Crown Prince Gold Mine, highlight significant growth potential across the belt at Airstrip, Lydia, Battery, Crescent, and Abbotts prospects.
Standout drilling intercepts include:
- 20 metres at 3.36 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 49 metres, including one metre at 39.37 g/t Au (Airstrip)
- 3 metres at 39.71 g/t Au from 12 metres, including one metre at 111.71 g/t Au (Lydia)
- 4 metres at 13.00 g/t Au from 43 metres, including one metre at 45.35 g/t Au (Battery)
- 7 metres at 8.75 g/t Au from 133 metres, including one metre at 33.08 g/t Au (Abbotts)
Crucially, several of these prospects sit on or immediately adjacent to granted mining leases, supporting potential development pathways to complement Crown Prince production.
Chief Executive Officer Alex Passmore said the company viewed the results as highly encouraging for NMG’s growth trajectory.
“We are very pleased to announce high grade results from relatively shallow depth from some of our key regional prospects, which offer strong potential for future growth,” Passmore said.
“The Airstrip prospect shows a +5km long zone of gold anomalism (+1g/t Au) in shallow drilling and is located near the large Abernethy shear zone.
“Airstrip has the scale to deliver a transformational gold deposit for the company.
“Lydia and Abbotts prospects sit on granted mining leases (MLs) and the company is investigating these as potential future production locations.”
The Abbotts Greenstone Belt has a long history of gold mining but remains underexplored by modern standards.
NMG is the first company to consolidate ownership of the belt, enabling a systematic approach to unlock value across multiple deposits in parallel with the development of Crown Prince.
Crown Prince, NMG’s flagship project, is on track for first ore deliveries this month following the commencement of mining and crushing activities in July.
The mine development follows the release of an Ore Reserve and Feasibility Study in February 2025 and the decision to mine in June.
The company said its newest exploration success reinforces the strategic plan of combining near-term cash flow from Crown Prince with significant discovery upside throughout the wider Abbotts Greenstone Belt.
With standout results from Airstrip and Lydia in particular, NMG has flagged the potential for “transformational growth” within trucking distance of Crown Prince.
New Murchison Gold Limited is an exploration and development company focused on the Garden Gully Gold Project near Meekatharra.
Its 677 km² tenure covers the prospective Abbotts Greenstone Belt and key regional structures, where mineralisation is controlled by major north-trending faults and lithological contacts between felsic and mafic rocks.
