Palisade Metals Ltd. has expanded its landholding at the Finley Basin tungsten project in Montana by 87 per cent, securing prime ground ahead of its maiden drilling program scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
The company staked an additional 324 hectares of federal unpatented lode mineral claims. The acquisition expands the project footprint from 372 hectares to more than 696 hectares.
The low-cost claim expansion targets prospective geology and historical geophysical anomalies surrounding the known core mineralisation, consolidating Palisade’s position in the historic Flint Creek Mountain Range tungsten district.
All preparations for the upcoming Phase I drilling campaign remain on schedule. Road access permits have been secured, and final state approvals are imminent.
The drill program is designed to validate and extend historical tungsten-rich skarn mineralisation identified by Union Carbide Corporation in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Palisade Metals Executive Chairman Chris Evans said the move strengthens the project ahead of resource modelling.
“We have strategically advanced our understanding of Finley Basin and moved quickly to secure additional landholdings around the historical core project area ahead of our maiden drill program,” Evans said.
“This exploration work is on schedule to start as planned and we look forward to confirming and expanding on the known mineralisation and collecting the necessary data to complete a JORC mineral resource estimate.”
Tungsten is designated as a critical mineral by the US government due to its vital applications in defence technologies, heavy industry, and advanced manufacturing.
The Finley Basin project benefits from existing regional infrastructure, including proximity to a fully permitted contract flotation mill located approximately 30 kilometres away in Philipsburg.
In addition to advancing Finley Basin, Palisade continues to evaluate complementary critical minerals opportunities across North America.
