Redcastle Resources Ltd. has fast-tracked the start of mining operations at its Queen Alexandra and Redcastle Reef gold deposits, marking its transition from explorer to gold producer.
The company said mining machinery has arrived at its fully granted mining lease (M39/318). The lease hosts both the Queen Alexandra and Redcastle Reef gold deposits, situated within Western Australia’s prolific goldfields.
The commencement of mining marks a change for the company. To fast-track production, Redcastle has adopted a capital-light operating model through the Redcastle-BML Ventures Joint Venture, with BML Ventures acting as the project operator.
Under the structure of the joint venture, BML is providing all necessary personnel, heavy equipment, and logistical support. This arrangement allows Redcastle shareholders to gain immediate exposure to near-term gold production without the hefty capital expenditure and funding burdens typically required to build a standalone mining operation from scratch.
The venture requires zero mill capital expenditure. Once the gold ore is mined, sorted, and stockpiled on-site, it will be hauled via road to existing third-party processing facilities in Wiluna for milling and treatment, using capacity already secured by BML.
On the ground, preparatory work is progressing at a rapid pace, with blast-hole drilling already underway to prepare the site for breaking ground ahead of schedule.
Redcastle Chairman Dr Ray Shaw hailed the swift mobilisation as a defining milestone for the resources company.
“Within days of receiving Mine Development Proposal approval, equipment is arriving onsite, blast-hole drilling has commenced, and we are tracking to breaking ground earlier than planned,” Shaw said.
“RC1 is transitioning from explorer to gold producer in a capital-light model that we believe delivers exceptional leverage to gold for our shareholders.”
Redcastle’s portfolio includes the Redcastle project area, the TBone Belt and, subject to completion, the Kilkenny Belt Package.
Within the Redcastle project area, Queen Alexandra and Redcastle Reef are the focus of the company’s near-term mining activities, while nearby targets, including Morgan’s Castle East, Sligo, Coronation, South Queen and Battery Lode, provide additional exploration and development upside.
