Terra Metals has confirmed a second platinum group metal sulphide discovery at the Southwest prospect within the Dante project in Western Australia.
The company’s SW5 target, where the second platinum group metal was discovered, is located approximately 800 metres south of the SW6 target, confirming that platinum group metal mineralisation occurs at multiple locations across the Southwest area.
Key highlights from SW5 include 69 metres at 0.92 grams per tonne (g/t) platinum, palladium, and gold (PGE3) from 48 metres, including 32 metres at 1.19 g/t PGE3, 0.12 per cent copper, and 0.10 per cent nickel from 49 metres.
Terra Metals CEO Thomas Line said: “The confirmation of a second platinum group metal copper-nickel sulphide discovery at SW5 is a significant step forward for our understanding of the Southwest area and highlights the scale and complexity of the mineral system developing within the Dante project.
“Importantly, these Southwest discoveries sit outside our current Dante mineral resource estimate and represent potential new, incremental upside to an already substantial polymetallic resource base.”
The company is focused on the systematic growth and de-risking of the existing Dante mineral resource estimate at Reef 1 and Reef 2, where a large resource upgrade and expansion program is ongoing.
“We are deliberately advancing both streams in parallel – continuing to invest in and grow the core Dante resource while methodically assessing new high-impact targets such as Southwest that have the potential to add further scale, optionality and long-term value to the project,” Line said.
“This balanced approach ensures we are maximising the full potential of the Dante system while maintaining a clear pathway to resource growth, technical maturity and future development.”
